Teaching Development
The Office of Teaching & Learning Excellence provides several different opportunities for faculty to learn about, reflect upon, and share teaching philosophies and practices.

Tech Snacks
Short, focused professional development sessions covering instructional technology, pedagogical techniques, and more. They are held (mostly) every Friday at 4 different times across campus.

Teaching Triangles
A relaxed, informal opportunity for faculty to engage in peer-to-peer feedback and reflection. OTLE helps facilitate groups of three instructors, who then arrange to mutually observe and discuss each group member's teaching.

Online Learning Consortium
The Online Learning Consortium™ (OLC) offers workshops on dozens of topics related to course design. Grant funding allows our office to pay OLC registration fees while also providing faculty with stipends for completing OLC workshops.

Faculty Learning Community
Monthly sessions with early-career (1st & 2nd year) faculty and the OTLE advisory committee, which consists of college chairs and faculty of various ranks. Topics vary but include tenure/promotion process and best practices in teaching.

Reading Group
OTLE hosts a faculty reading group once or twice each year. Selections are usually from the areas of teaching and learning science, diversity and inclusion in teaching, or technology and society.

Innovative Teaching & Learning Festival
Each spring, 6 faculty give a brief presentation about a teaching problem that they solved in an innovative way. Faculty (and staff) from across campus have the opportunity to learn about these strategies and join in on the discussion.
