How does the Unlimited Access Meal Plan work?
Meal plans provide unlimited access to the Food Court during operating hours. Students can simply swipe in, using their official Northern ID, and choose from all available options. There is no limit to the number of times you can swipe in and visit the Food Court each day. The Unlimited Access plan is not a declining balance plan - the cost of your meal plan provides you access, as often as we are open and to anything available when we are. You won’t be charged anything per item or per visit - the meal plan cost is simply a semesterly rate, billed once at the start of each Fall and Spring term.

What if I just want a snack?
Looking for a snack, but not interested in a meal? With unlimited access to the
Food Court during operating hours, you can simply stop by, have an apple (or a
burger), and continue on your way! Also, each meal plan includes $200 Flex Dollars for you to spend at the convenience store located at the south end of the Dining Room. 

What if I don't use all of my Flex Dollars?
Meal plans end with the midday meal on the last day of Finals Week. Unused Flex Dollars will be forfeited at the end of the semester and cannot be refunded. Flex Dollars reset to $200 at the start of each semester.

What are the hours of the Dining Hall?
The Dining Hall will be open 7:00 am until 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday and 10:00am-6:00pm Saturday and Sunday and holidays with a limited menu.

  • Lunch: 11:30am-5:30pm
  • Dinner: 5:30pm-8pm*
             * last order is at 7:45pm
  • Brunch: 10am-1pm
  • Dinner: 1pm-6pm*
             * last order is at 5:45pm

How will I access my meal plan?
You will need to use your University ID card, the North Card. If you do not have a Card, you are required to have photo ID and your name can be looked up.

Can I let a friend, fellow student, teammate, family member, or anyone else use my Meal Plan?
No, no one else is allowed to use your Meal Plan.

What do I do if I see any discrepancies or something doesn't seem correct on my remaining balance on my Meal Plan?
Ask to speak to the Director, who has access to look into your plan and can make needed adjustments.

How do I sign up for the meal plan?
Contact the Business Services at 406-265-3733 or stop by the SUB for assistance.

What if I don't have a meal plan? Can I still eat in the Food Court?
Yes. Off campus students, faculty, staff and the public are welcome to dine in the Food Court. Patrons will be charged ala carte or buffet pricing, depending on their food choices. "All You Choose to Eat" pricing is as follows:

  • Breakfast = $8.95
  • Lunch = $10.95
  • Dinner = $13.95
