Grants and Sponsored Programs Trainings
Project Director/Principal Investigator Training
If you plan to submit grant proposals, contact the Grants Coordinator to schedule a brief overview of grant proposal and award processes at MSUN.
This is a required training.
Research Training
If you plan to submit a grant proposal to a Federal sponsor or you receive a grant award from a Federal sponsor, you will be required to take certain trainings before you submit a proposal or work on a project.
The Grants Coordinator can help you determine which trainings are required, provide links to training resources, and will document which trainings have been completed. The trainings will depend on the sponsor of your award, the type of project or research, and if undergraduates will participate in your project.
You may need to take trainings on a regular basis to remain compliant with Federal regulations.
Research Training Policy
The Office of Grants & Sponsored Programs Research Training Policy contains information on required research training for Federal agencies and how to access the training.
This training includes, but is not limited to:
- Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research.
- Research Security Training.
- Human Subjects.
- Financial Conflict of Interest.
Contact the Grants Coordinator with questions.
CITI Program
The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program serves the training needs of colleges and universities as they foster integrity and professional advancement of their learners.
MSUN uses CITI online modules to satisfy some of the Federal training requirements.
