Farm Mechanics Building

In 1982 a fund drive was begun to provide funds for a much needed Farm Mechanics Building on campus. Over a period of months $350,000 was raised strictly from corporate and community contributions and construction was completed. The building was dedicated in 1984 at an open house and barbecue in honor of agriculture businesses and area farmers and ranchers who supported the project. The building provides a large open space that allows students to work on diesel engines and related heavy machinery and farm equipment in both the ag mechanics and diesel mechanics programs. The building and equipment are also used by Northern's Tractor Resource Center for training seminars and workshops provided throughout the year to Montana producers.
