Eligibility for Services

Students are assessed a "Health Fee" each semester. This fee helps cover the costs associated with operating Student Health Services and entitles ALL students access to available services. This fee is separate from "Student Health Insurance".

While health insurance is mandatory for students enrolled in six or more academic credits, it is not required to utilize Student Health Services. In fact, appointments and services are FREE of cost and health insurance will not be billed.

However, health insurance may be necessary to assist students in covering health services outside of Student Health Services, such as referrals for lab services, specialists, prescriptions, etc.

A staff member will be able to answer any questions you may have about community providers or referrals.

Opportunity for Student Involvement

Healthy Living Advocates (HLA) is a student club for anyone interested in health and chronic disease prevention. The club’s purpose is to implement educational efforts related to promoting health and improve the health of students at MSU-Northern. For more information, contact the student club advisor, Wanda Meredith, at wanda.meredith@msun.edu
